Gardner, MA — January 25th — At 17 Healdville Road, the Gardner Fire Department helped the Hubbardston Fire Department with a working basement fire. In order to help on-scene activities and fire suppression, mutual aid was requested. When crews arrived, they discovered that a residential building's basement was on fire. In order to prevent the fire from spreading to the top floors, firefighters swiftly established handlines and got it under control.

After that, overhaul operations were conducted to make sure the fire was completely put out and to look for any hot spots that could still exist. On the scene, Combination 4, 11C, and 11C1 reacted and conducted operations. The first response was managed by Group 4, which was the on-duty group. In order to maintain coverage for any more emergencies, Group 1 was summoned back to staff stations in Gardner. The incident was resolved without any more problems, and no injuries were reported.
