Montvale House Fire

MONTVALE, NJ - On February 3rd at approximately 2:10 P.M., Montvale fire units were dispatched to 101 East Grand Ave. for a reported basement fire. First arriving PD units confirmed a working fire. Chief M10 requested a second-alarm assignment, which brought mutual aid companies to the scene. The fire extended to the first-floor, and as conditions worsened, an evacuation of the home was ordered. Additional mutual aid units were requested to the scene to go to work. Companies were able to reenter the building to fully knock down the fire in about an hour. Mutual aid from Park Ridge, Woodcliff Lake, Upper Saddle River, Westwood, and Pearl River, NY assisted on the scene, while companies from Norwood, Twp. of Washington, Old Tappan and Emerson covered at the firehouse.
