Douglas, MA — January 14th — A barn fire was reported near the Martin Road Ballfield, and the Town of Douglas Fire Department responded. Before the fire company arrived, a second alarm was set up, bringing more people and tankers to the location, and all Douglas units were sent out.

The fire spread to an adjacent single-bay, two-story garage, and the first responders discovered a barn and horse pasture completely destroyed. Before workers moved on to the garage's second story, Engine 3 extended a hose line to put out the main fire. For exposure protection and extinguishment, more lines were installed. Because the incident occurred outside of the hydrant district, a tanker shuttle was formed.
