Brookfield, MA — January 25th — On January 25, employees of the Brookfield Fire Department worked to maintain the fire station's accessibility and clarity throughout the winter. In order to ensure that fire equipment can respond promptly and to minimize slide dangers for personnel reporting for duty, maintaining station access is a crucial component of winter preparation. While staff are on standby for emergency calls, these activities are completed. As part of standard operating procedures, fire departments throughout Massachusetts frequently designate personnel to perform station maintenance during storms and cold weather.
