Emergency medical calls accounted for the majority of responses, with firefighters and EMS personnel handling 4,382 EMS incidents, a 4 percent increase year over year. The remaining 1,277 calls included a wide range of emergencies and service responses, underscoring the department’s expanding operational demands.

Fire-related incidents during the year included 24 building fires, three chimney fires, 20 brush and grass fires, and six vehicle fires. Crews also responded to 38 hazardous materials spill or leak incidents, 10 carbon monoxide calls, eight water or ice rescues, and one aircraft emergency standby. Additional responses involved smoke investigations, electrical and water hazard investigations, and numerous public assistance calls.

Mutual aid continued to play a significant role in regional emergency response. During 2025, the Biddeford Fire Department received assistance from neighboring departments on 165 occasions and provided aid to surrounding communities 196 times.

Department officials noted that the sustained increase in call volume reflects growing service demands and highlighted the continued importance of regional cooperation and firefighter readiness to meet community needs safely and effectively.
