Guilderland Fire Department Assist at Working Trailer Fire on Western Avenue

On January 18th, the Fort Hunter Fire Company assisted in a working structure fire at 2460 Western Avenue, Lot 11. The Guilderland Fire Department responded to the incident, with assistance from the Guilderland Center Fire Department, Rotterdam Fire District #2, and Fort Hunter units. Fort Hunter firefighters participated with on-scene operations as part of the coordinated response of the incident command system. Crews assisted with suppression and support responsibilities, while businesses attempted to control the fire and prevent further spread.

Additional support on scene included Guilderland Police, Guilderland EMS, the Guilderland Investigation Team, and National Grid. Station coverage was provided by the Westmere Fire Department. The incident also marked the first deployment of the countywide structural decontamination unit, supporting firefighter health and safety following fireground operations.
