The Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department stated on January 24 that the Wyckoff Emergency Management Team convened earlier in the day to discuss strategies and plan ahead for an impending snow storm. The preparation of fire, EMS, police, and public works departments was the main topic of discussion. A State of Emergency was set to go into force at 5:00 p.m. that day, according to town officials. Residents were encouraged to limit driving unless required to reduce route congestion and allow emergency vehicles and snow removal equipment to function without delay. Similar actions are frequently used throughout New Jersey to support continuous response and recovery efforts during winter weather events.
