Thawing Ice Leads to Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Fall River, Ma. Around 1:30 pm. on January 29th. firefighters responded to 90 Grove St. for a still alarm. Platform1 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from a 3 decker. Command arrived on scene an determined the fire was inside an outside wall. Engine 2 stretched an attack line while other members began removing the siding to expose the hidden fire. Command called for the building inspector and the Fire Investigation Unit to respond. The fire was believed caused by attempting to thaw ice. There was also evidence the tenants used a green line before calling the Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
