The Ogdensburg Fire Department is sorry to inform you of the death of Joe Mora, an exempt member. For many years, Firefighter Mora proudly served the Ogdensburg community. He was well-known around the firehouse and frequently shared anecdotes from his tenure. In keeping with his dedication to helping fellow colleagues, he most recently held the position of department chaplain.

When Ogdensburg sponsored the Sussex County Firemen's Parade in 2012, the department recognized Mora by designating him Grand Marshal. He maintained strong ties to the department even after leaving active duty, frequently going to events with his wife, Rosemary. Generations of members were profoundly impacted by Firefighter Mora's commitment, tales, and expertise. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will continue within the department and the community he served.
