West Berlin, NJ — January 14th — Thanks to a New Jersey Legislative Grant, the West Berlin Fire-Rescue, located at 186 Haddon Avenue, just started using electric vehicle emergency plugs. The gadgets are made to link to electric cars and take control of the car's systems, enabling extra safety features and forcing the car to automatically move into park when it detects a charging condition. For police, fire, emergency medical services, and tow operators working at motor vehicle accident scenes involving electric vehicles, this equipment enhances scene safety. The plugs facilitate safer stabilization and patient access during EV-related situations, according to department officials. Legislative District 4 elected representatives were acknowledged by the agency for their efforts in obtaining the funding, which has improved emergency response operations with a number of safety-related resources.
