Alloway Firefighters Rescue Buck from Elkington Pond

ALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ - At around 3:30 p.m. on January 21st, Alloway Township Fire Company responded to an animal rescue assignment at the Elkington Pond. Upon arrival, firefighters found a buck stranded on thin ice near the center of the pond. In order to prevent the animal from being further stressed while maintaining member safety, crews carefully evaluated the situation. Firefighters were able to guide and assist the buck off the ice and back onto solid ground.
