Haddonfield, NJ — Jan. 24 — As the region's winter weather persists, members of Haddon Fire Company No. 1 are still on standby and ready to respond to crises. Crews are prepared to handle events including snow, freezing weather, and seasonal risks, according to fire authorities. When shoveling, residents are asked to remove snow from fire hydrants close to their residences. Having hydrants on hand makes it easier for firemen to swiftly create water supply in an emergency.

Additionally, despite of how frozen they may appear, officials advised the public to avoid Hopkins Pond and all other bodies of water. Every year, ice and winter-related events are responded to by fire stations around the region. Throughout the weekend, officials urged locals to take basic safety precautions and responsibly enjoy the cold weather.
