Westville, NJ — January 24 — When a working residential structure fire occurred in Deptford, members of the Westville Fire Department responded as mutual aid. When the Deptford Fire Department arrived, they discovered that a one-and-a-half-story single-family home was on fire. The incident was elevated to a working fire assignment and handled with all hands because there was a fire on the first floor and a lot of smoke throughout the building.

The RIT Group was tasked with Westville and the National Park Fire Department. Crews created safety posts, Division A and Division B accountability officers, and a RIT Group Supervisor. In order to support firefighter safety and accountability during suppression operations, companies were positioned for fireground observation.
