Swearing-In Ceremony Held in Whitman

WHITMAN, MA - On the evening of Tuesday, January 23rd, the Town of Whitman held a swearing-in ceremony for two new Whitman firefighters. The ceremony was held at 6:00 P.M. in the auditorium at the Whitman Town Hall prior to a Board of Selectmen's meeting.


Whitman Fire Chief Timothy Clancy first introduced Firefighter/Paramedic Justin Everson, who was hired on August 8, 2021. Firefighter Everson is a lifelong resident of Pembroke, and currently resides in Abington.


Chief Clancy then introduced Firefighter/Paramedic Joseph Lasko, who was hired on November 14, 2022. Firefighter Lasko is a lifelong resident of Marshfield, and also currently resides in Abington.


Both firefighters were sworn-in at the same time by Whitman Town Clerk Dawn Varley. Following the swearing-in, Firefighter Everson had his badge pinned on by his mother Elizabeth Dwyer, and Firefighter Lasko had his badge pinned on by his mother Karen Lasko. Both members had several members of their family and friends in attendance.
