Linwood Fire Department Rescues Entrapped Victim in Route 9 Crash

December 16, 2025 — The Linwood Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 11:30 a.m. to the intersection of Route 9 and Oak Avenue for a reported motor vehicle accident that involved an entrapped occupant. Engine 54 and Car 5 responded with two on-duty firefighter/EMTs and arrived on scene in under two minutes from the time of dispatch. Upon arrival, crews determined that one individual was trapped inside a vehicle, prompting firefighters to immediately begin medical care and initiate extrication efforts. A recall of off-duty personnel was transmitted, and Ladder 5 responded with two additional volunteer firefighters to assist. Once all patients were safely removed from the vehicles, they were treated on scene and transported to local hospitals by Egg Harbor Township Emergency Medical Services. The Linwood Fire Department expressed appreciation to the City of Northfield Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Northfield Firefighters IAFF Local 2364, and EHT Communications for their assistance during the incident.
