Laureldale Fire Rescue Issues Snow Emergency Safety Alert to Residents
January 24, 2026 — As winter weather moves into the area, the Laureldale Volunteer Fire/Rescue Company issued a snow emergency alert urging residents to take precautions to stay safe and support emergency operations. Fire officials advised residents to remain indoors unless travel is absolutely necessary, keep driveways and walkways clear for responders, and charge electronic devices in preparation for possible power outages. Residents are also reminded to clear at least a three-foot perimeter around fire hydrants, keep house numbers visible, and check on neighbors who may need assistance. Officials cautioned against blocking roadways with vehicles or snow piles, using ovens or grills for heat, overloading electrical outlets, and ignoring travel advisories. Firefighters emphasized that community cooperation—such as adopting a hydrant and reporting hazards like downed power lines—can significantly improve response times and help protect lives and property during winter storms.
