Crash with Entrapment Prompts Multi-Unit Response in Deptford Township

DEPTFORD TWP., NJ - On January 14th, a car accident involving entrapment in a construction zone along Delsea Drive prompted the dispatch of Station 9-3, Station 9-4, and Squad 9-2. When Chief Thomas 901 arrived, he verified that one individual was stuck inside a car.


In order to provide patient access, Squad 9-2 dismantled a door and turned on battery-powered spreaders and cutters. In order to offer fire protection at the scene, Engine 932 extended a front bumper line. During operations, Rescue 938 reported to the manpower pool and provided assistance as needed.


Two individuals with non-life-threatening injuries were transported. Union Fire Company #1 coordinated with EMS units to handle the response. The Deptford Police Department and the New Jersey State Police are looking into the collision.
