Clayton Crews Stop Second-Floor Bathroom Fire

Clayton, NJ — 21st January — In the afternoon, Task Force 41 was sent to Clayton in response to a suspected house fire. When Chief 4100 arrived first, they saw smoke coming from a two-and-a-half-story residential building. In order to support inside operations, Ladder 26 forced access while Engine 41 extended a handline through the front entrance. When crews reached the second level, they discovered a bathroom fire, which they swiftly put out. Firefighters verified that there was no more fire spread, finished ventilation, and checked for extension. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians. As a precaution, units secured utilities and followed routine operating procedures. The Clayton Fire Company, located at 107 W. High Street, responded to the event. In a short period of time, the fire was contained. Following overhaul operations, every unit was cleared.
