CLAYTON, NJ - On the afternoon of January 21st, Task Force 41 was sent to Clayton in response to a reported house fire. When Chief 4100 arrived first, they saw smoke coming from a two-and-a-half-story residential building.

In order to support inside operations, Ladder 26 forced access while Engine 41 extended a handline through the front entrance. When crews reached the second level, they discovered a bathroom fire, which they quickly put out. Firefighters confirmed that there was no more fire spread, finished ventilation, and checked for extension. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.

As a precaution, units secured utilities and followed routine operating procedures. Following overhaul operations, all units were cleared.
