Barnegat, NJ — January 13 — A reported structure fire prompted the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11 to react. When Deputy Chief 1110 arrived on the scene first, he established command and started fire assault operations after confirming that the fire was operational. Crews worked to contain the fire while organizing the arrival of supplies, stretching handlines.
Suppression and support duties were aided by mutual assistance companies 36, 47, 60, and 61. Firefighter rehabilitation and medical care were provided by Barnegat First Aid and Stafford EMS. To ensure scene safety, Barnegat Police helped with road closures and traffic management. During the event, the Ladies Auxiliary of the department assisted with operations. The scene was turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office for investigation once the fire was contained.
