QUINTON, NJ — January 19 — Firefighter Colin Finney was honored by the Quinton Fire Company when he successfully completed the police school. Finney is starting his career in law enforcement while still serving in the fire service after completing the necessary courses and practical training.

Police and fire department collaboration is strengthened via academy training in emergency coordination, public safety protocols, and scene management, according to fire officials. Members with a variety of public safety responsibilities contribute additional expertise to situations including car collisions, building fires, and neighborhood gatherings. Finney's commitment to training and service was recognized by the department, which also wished him great success and safety in his new position. His accomplishment demonstrates how first responders are all dedicated to safeguarding and assisting the community.
