PENNSVILLE, NJ — January 22 — Emergency road maintenance impeding the northbound turn lane near Wawa North and Lippincott Avenue was reported to drivers by Pennsville Fire & Rescue Company No. 1. In order to ensure safe conditions for responders and traffic, the turn lane was restricted to enable personnel to repair highway hazards.

While the work was being done, Pennsville Police Department officers were deployed to the area to help with detours, guide traffic, and maintain scene safety. Although delays were anticipated during periods of high travel demand, the road was still accessible to through traffic. Wawa North didn't close. As operations proceeded, drivers were urged to take different routes, slow down, and obey on-scene personnel's instructions.
