McAfee, NJ — January 11 — Earlier this month, the McAfee Fire Department, which is situated at 88 State Route 94, participated in a collaborative four-company ice and cold water rescue training exercise. Because to the ideal winter weather, teams from various departments were able to safely train advanced rescue tactics during the drill. When working in cold water situations, firefighters were trained in ice navigation techniques, victim removal, equipment deployment, and communication. Rescuer safety and interagency coordination were prioritized.
Although they are rare, ice and cold water rescues pose serious risks to both victims and responders. Regional simulations are encouraged by fire service training guidelines to guarantee that agencies can work together efficiently in certain situations. Responders hope these abilities are rarely used, but ongoing training keeps the area prepared for winter emergencies.
