Lafayette Fire Urges Caution After Multiple MVC Responses

Lafayette Township, NJ — December 25 — Over the Christmas season, the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to three major auto accidents. Numerous occurrences involving substantial vehicle damage and reported injuries required the dispatch of firefighters. In winter driving conditions, crews worked alongside EMS and law enforcement to secure sites, control traffic, and provide patient treatment.


According to state and federal traffic safety data, holiday travel times are regularly linked to higher collision activity because of increased traffic volume, seasonal weather, and driver distraction. Increased following distances and slower speeds can lessen the likelihood of serious collisions, according to emergency responders. Emergency services staff advise drivers that slowing down and paying attention can assist protect drivers, passengers, and first responders as the holiday season progresses.
