Fredon, N.J. — December 30th —As part of ongoing winter preparation efforts, the Fredon Volunteer Fire Company practiced ice rescue on Hunts Road. Firefighters rehearsed methods for handling frozen surfaces safely and extracting people from frigid water. Responder safety protocols, team-based rescue techniques, communication, and the appropriate use of ice rescue equipment were all covered in the training. In order to lower danger during operations in cold weather, members also went over patient packaging and self-rescue skills.

Regular practical training supports safe operations for both responders and the public, according to department staff. The Fredon Volunteer Fire Company still places a strong emphasis on training in order to get its members ready for situations including ice, low temperatures, and winter conditions in the neighborhood.
