Fredon, N.J. — December 18th — Hannah Ellicott, a member of the Fredon Volunteer Fire Company, received recognition after completing the Firefighter I program at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy. Ellicott has been a part of the department for a number of years. She continues to be active on the EMS side of the organization and works alongside her father and siblings.

The Firefighter I curriculum focuses on safe fireground operations through classroom training, practical evolutions, and hands-on skills. Ellicott will be able to increase her function in the department and take part in fire suppression actions more thoroughly after completing the course. Members of the department praised Ellicott for her achievement and pointed out that ongoing certification and training improve community operations and preparedness for emergency responses.
