Somerset, N.J. — December 22nd — The Somerset Fire & Rescue Co. No. 1 was called to a reported vehicle fire on Route 287 northbound at Exit 10 on the last night of the Santa ride. Car 56 was informed that the fire was on the southbound side close to Exit 9 in Piscataway as units were responding.

When Car 56 arrived, it verified that there was a well-involved car fire. In order to put out the fire, Engine 562 extended a hose line and worked with Piscataway Fire Department units. Firefighters tried to contain the situation and safeguard surrounding motorists. While operations were finished, lanes were briefly affected. Before troops cleared, the site was turned over to law police.
