The Kenilworth Fire Department and Rescue Squad arrived in Roselle Park at around 4:50 p.m. on January 1 in response to an auto-aid call for a third-alarm commercial structure fire. Due to resource requirements and fire conditions, the event was elevated to a fifth-alarm assignment as activities progressed. In addition to helping with fire control, Kenilworth Truck 3 workers checked neighboring residential exposure buildings for indications of fire spread. To bolster containment efforts, firefighters collaborated with other mutual-aid units and county resources. During the event, no injuries were recorded.
