The Roselle Park Fire Department was called to a reported fire at Crossfield Products on Valley Road at 4:44 p.m. on January 1, 2026. When responders arrived, they discovered a well-established fire that eventually required a fifth alarm. There were no recorded deaths. Other mutual-aid agencies and county resources from all around the area responded after the Kenilworth Fire Department and Rescue Squad were first on the scene. For several hours, firefighters battled to contain the fire and stop it from spreading to neighboring buildings. No other buildings were harmed, and the fire was successfully restricted to the original structure. While they waited for heavy machinery to securely handle the structure, crews stayed on the spot. When circumstances permitted, fire personnel worked with PSE&G to restore power to impacted residents.
