On Tuesday, January 6, members of the New Providence Volunteer Fire Department attended the Borough Re-Organization meeting, where fire officers and hose company officers were properly sworn in for the upcoming year. The event acknowledged the department's ongoing dedication to service and preparedness and signaled the official beginning of leadership positions for 2026. Firefighters Daniel Nelson and William "Bill" Vignali received Class 1 Valor Awards from Chief Signorello during the meeting. The medals honored their efforts to save lives during a flash flood on July 14, 2025.
