Hillsborough Township, NJ — 12th January — Flagtown Fire/Rescue: After many reports of a fire, Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1 was sent to the Falcon Road area close to Kohl's. Chiefs who arrived first verified that a detached garage was completely involved, with other minor explosions brought on by pressurized gas cylinders within the building.
Neshanic Fire Company and the three Hillsborough Fire District companies responded. Finderne was designated as the Rapid Intervention Company and engine companies from Raritan and Manville were added to the first alarm. To put out the fire, crews used three hose lines and carried out a lot of overhaul work. Only one car and the garage were affected by the fire. Regular hazardous chemicals were removed from the premises with the help of Somerset County Hazmat. RWJ EMS and Hillsborough Police were on standby.
