Bedminster, NJ — January 14 — The Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy is where probationary members Tony and Jack started Firefighter I training this week, according to the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department, located at 100 Miller Lane in Bedminster.

Over 200 hours of classroom education and hands-on skill training make up the Firefighter I curriculum. Fire behavior, PPE, hose and ladder operations, search and rescue, ventilation, and firefighter safety are all included in the training. Academy training is a crucial step in preparing new members for operational tasks, according to department commanders. As part of the department's probationary process, Tony and Jack will continue their training over the upcoming months to enhance the communities of Far Hills and Bedminster's preparation and response capabilities.
