MVC With Injury Involving Deer Handled in Basking Ridge

Basking Ridge, NJ — 21st December — When a car struck a deer in a reported MVC with injuries, the Basking Ridge Fire Co. No. 1 & EMS arrived. Reports of injuries at the scene prompted the dispatch of fire and emergency medical services.


Crews evaluated the involved car, controlled traffic hazards, and secured the route upon arrival. In compliance with established protocols, EMS workers assessed the injured occupant, took vital signs, and administered care. The patient was ready to be sent for additional medical assessment. In New Jersey, deer collisions are frequent, especially during seasonal migratory times. The need of safe driving in wooded regions is still emphasized by fire and emergency medical services. Units were put back into service once the situation was under control and patient treatment was finished.
