Rooftop HVAC Issue Prompts Response at Camden Hannaford

December 19,2025 — Camden Fire & Rescue was dispatched at approximately 6:30 p.m., along with mutual aid partners, to a reported structure fire with smoke inside the Hannaford grocery store at 145 Elm Street in Camden.
Fire crews conducted a thorough investigation of the building and determined the source of the smoke was a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit. The unit was safely isolated, and after confirming there was no further hazard, the store was cleared to reopen.
