December 17, 2025 — Sidney Fire Department announced the successful conclusion of its annual firefighters food drive, crediting the generosity of the Saanich Peninsula community for an outstanding show of support. This year’s effort raised a total of $18,126.90 in monetary donations and collected 259 boxes of food, all of which have been delivered to the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank. Fire department officials said the donations will help ensure shelves remain stocked for Peninsula residents in need during the winter months, adding that they are proud to serve such a compassionate and giving community.
