December 8, 2025— Monmouth Fire Department responded on mutual aid to the Town of Litchfield for a fully involved structure fire late Monday night. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions with the building already well involved. Firefighters from multiple departments worked under challenging winter conditions, including narrow and slippery roadways, to establish water supply and conduct sustained water-shuttle operations. Despite the coordinated firefighting effort, the structure was deemed a total loss.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Officials credited the hard work and teamwork of all responding departments for safely managing the incident under difficult conditions. Information provided by the Monmouth Fire Department.
