East Andover, NH — 10th January — Volunteers and staff from Andover, NH Emergency Services were able to replenish the community skating rink in East Andover on Highland Lake with new water due to the cold morning temperatures. As temperatures continued to be favorable, the effort improved ice conditions and prepared the surface for safe winter skating.

Liam O'Hagan, Chief Barton, Deputy Grant, Lieutenant Barton, and Firefighter/EMT Kidder, who oversaw the early-morning operation, all contributed to the effort. While keeping an eye on the situation, crews concentrated on strengthening the ice's surface. Authorities urged skaters to use caution and adhere to local safety regulations while reminding locals that ice thickness can vary. The project demonstrated ongoing collaboration between the community and emergency services personnel to promote seasonal activity while prioritizing safety.
