Crews Contain Bedroom Electrical Fire in Litchfield

The Bantam Fire Company, Bantam Ambulance, and the Litchfield Fire Department were called to Bantam Terrace at 3:29 p.m. on January 9, 2026, due to a reported fire in a bedroom on the second story. Torrington Fire was also sent to RIT, but it was cancelled en way. When crews arrived, they discovered an electrical fire inside a wardrobe that had spread to adjacent items. Damage was reduced because to the homeowner's prompt steps, which included turning off the electricity and removing objects from the vicinity. Firefighters kept an eye out for any threats in the atmosphere and examined the structure for extensions. The incident was contained and stopped from spreading. The scene was turned over to the Town of Litchfield Fire Marshal and Building Official. A total of 17 Bantam Fire Company members responded to the incident.
