Newton Fire Handles Medical Calls and Mutual Aid Response

Newton, NH — 4th January — Operating out of 8D Merrimac Road in Newton, New Hampshire, the Newton NH Fire Department maintained coverage and continuity of service while responding to three different incidents in less than an hour. Newton Fire Rescue was called to an in-town medical emergency. After arriving, Ambulance 2 took the patient to a nearby hospital.


Engine 2 was sent on a mutual aid assignment to the Town of Kingston for a working structure fire shortly after that call was made, at the Kingston Fire Department's request. A third in-town medical call was sent out while those units were in operation. After arriving, Ambulance 1 took the patient to a nearby hospital. Throughout several concurrent occurrences, the coordinated reaction guaranteed continuous emergency coverage.
