January 2, 2026— Chepachet Fire Department marked the start of the new year by reflecting on an exceptionally busy 2025, during which its volunteers responded to more than 1,100 calls for service. Department officials noted that the majority of responses were medical in nature, underscoring the critical role firefighters and EMS personnel play in day-to-day community health and safety. In addition to emergency responses, members dedicated hundreds of hours of personal time to training and education, all while maintaining service with minimal taxpayer burden.

Looking ahead to 2026, the department acknowledged uncertainty about future call volume but emphasized that its volunteers remain ready and committed to meeting whatever challenges lie ahead.
