South Windsor Volunteers Answer 782 Calls in 2025

In their year-end statistics for 2025, the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department reported 782 service requests. Responses included 55 fires, 140 rescues and motor vehicle accidents, 88 hazardous conditions such as electrical and hazmat-related incidents, 380 false alarms or good-intent calls, and 119 service-related responses. Members contributed 2,190 staff hours to public education and outreach in addition to emergency operations, supporting 62 fire and life safety community activities. Firefighters logged a combined 6,561 hours operating on emergency incidents and an additional 7,529 hours dedicated to training throughout the year. In total, volunteers contributed more than 16,000 hours of service in 2025, not including administrative time by officers and staff. Department leadership thanked members for their continued commitment and wished the community a safe transition into 2026.
