January 8, 2026 — The Lewiston Fire Department announced the first Car Seat Safety Event of the new year, scheduled for Thursday, January 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The free event will be held at Lewiston Fire Station 4, located at 55 North Temple Street, and is open to the public. Certified personnel will be available to inspect child safety seats, ensure proper installation, and answer questions from caregivers.

The event is supported by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety and Andwell Health Partners. Residents with questions are encouraged to contact June Turcotte for additional information.
