December 30, 2025— Durham Fire & Rescue responded during the afternoon hours to a serious head-on motor vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle with a trapped occupant and a rolled-over home heating oil truck. Firefighters and EMS personnel conducted extrication operations to safely remove the operator of the passenger vehicle, who was then airlifted by LifeFlight of Maine to Maine Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the oil truck was transported from the scene by Freeport Fire Rescue. Multiple agencies assisted during the complex incident, including the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, Lisbon EMS, and the Maine State Police. Crews worked together to secure the scene, address safety concerns related to the overturned truck, and provide patient care before clearing the incident.
