The Chief, two Assistant Chiefs, and the officers of United Fire Company No. 1 were chosen by the members during the annual elections that took place during the December membership meeting. The Cutchogue Fire Department then announced its officers for 2026. Chief Michael C. Boken and the Board of Fire Commissioners swore in the newly elected officers at the regular monthly meeting on January 1.
Despite the holiday, a sizable number of members attended the meeting, which was the first formal event held at the department's new firehouse. Many of them were visiting the new building for the first time, making it a historic occasion. Antique equipment 8-5-2A was brought back from storage and backed into the apparatus bays as a reminder of the department's past. It is the first vehicle to be stored at the new facility and will stay there until the current fleet moves in and the last construction and finishing work is finished.
The department announced the following 2026 Department Officers: Chief Michael C. Boken (8-5-30), First Assistant Chief Christopher Dinizio (8-5-31), Second Assistant Chief Joseph Hinton (8-5-32), and Department Secretary Christian Figurniak.
The 2026 United Fire Company No. 1 officers include Company Captain Kenneth Pearsall III (8-5-50). Truck officers consist of 8-5-1 Lt. Charlie Witczak with Chief Driver Steve Braverman, 8-5-2 Lt. Kenneth Burns with Chief Driver Ethan Helgans, 8-5-3 Lt. Christian Figurniak with Chief Driver John Hinton Sr., 8-5-4 Lt. Timothy Winters with Chief Driver William Brewer, 8-5-5 Lt. Behr with Chief Driver William Fannon, and 8-5-17 Lt. Garett Lake with Chief Driver Beth Young.
Specialty officers include Rescue Squad Captain Kenneth Burns and Lieutenant Beth Young, Fire Police Captain Arthur Brewer and Lieutenant Joe Ingenito, and Water Rescue Captain Tom Robbins with Lieutenant Ethan Helgans.
Administrative officers named for 2026 are Treasurer Peter Zwerlein, Recording Secretary Tom Cybulski, Financial Secretary Gary Ennis, with Trustees Andre Cybulski, Arthur Brewer, and Steven Harned. The department also sent its best wishes to all officers and members serving the community in 2026, congratulating Fire Commissioner Christopher Talbot on his reelection to a five-year term on the Board of Fire Commissioners following the December public election. They said they look forward to welcoming the public into the new firehouse once the project is finished.
