December 24, 2025— The Union Fire District of South Kingstown announced that members of the local high school Firefighting Career and Technical Education (CTE) class recently received their new sets of turnout gear.
Funding for the equipment was made possible through a federal recruitment and retention grant aimed at supporting the next generation of firefighters. Department officials said students will participate in multiple hands-on training sessions throughout the second semester, gaining practical experience and foundational skills for future service in the fire and emergency services field.
