WILLIMANTIC, CT - At 2:24 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3rd, the Willimantic Fire Department with Mansfield Squad 107 and Uconn FAST were dispatched to 237 South Park street for a kitchen fire. Engine 101 arrived at 2:26 P.M. reporting smoke showing from the rear of a one-story brick house. The crew stretched a one-and-three-quarter-inch hose line through the front door and quickly knocked the fire with tank water. Truck 101 set up ventilation while Mansfield secured the utilities. Uconn FAST was released shortly after arrival, and the Windham Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
