On December 21st, members of the Valley Township Fire Department participated in another round of forcible entry training, which focused on basic skills utilized during emergency operations. Identification of tools and the various ways firemen enter buildings were discussed in the training session. Members reviewed when and why certain instruments are chosen during accidents while practicing safe and efficient procedures.

Junior firemen made up the majority of the training participants. Junior members, who range in age from 14 to 17, learn the fundamentals of fire service operations while helping with a variety of jobs on the fireground and at departmental events. Department leaders noted they are proud of the dedication and effort shown by the junior members during training.
