NESCOPECK BOROUGH, PA - Shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day, Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 was dispatched to a third-alarm structure fire in Nescopeck Borough. Engine 1 responded with a crew of six firefighters, who upon arrival were assigned as the first-due RIT. Crews stood by to ensure firefighter safety while multiple companies worked to contain heavy fire conditions that had extended through the structure. Thick smoke and flames were visible from the upper floors and roof area as operations continued in challenging winter conditions.
