Glassport's Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 concluded a record-breaking year in 2025 by responding to 612 occurrences. Members dedicated a substantial amount of time to training throughout the year, obtaining professional certifications including Firefighter I and Firefighter II. Department officers praised the community for its ongoing support and acknowledged the members' commitment.
The government intends to start a daylight stipend staffing program in early January of 2026. The initiative, which is funded by a FEMA SAFER grant, would give trained firefighters financial stipends to enhance daytime manning and reaction times when personnel are scarce. A significant milestone will also be reached in the upcoming year when Citizen's Hose Company No. 1 commemorates 125 years of service to Glassport's businesses and citizens. The department thanked the community for their support and wished them a safe and healthy new year.
