Old Bridge, New Jersey — December 7 — Information about Code Blue declarations issued in Middlesex County during periods of severe cold was supplied by the South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company.

A Code Blue is issued in accordance with New Jersey State Law P.L.2019, c.427, when temperatures drop to 32 degrees or lower or when wind chill values remain below zero for longer than two hours. Participating towns provide designated warming centers for unsheltered people during a Code Blue. In order to support public safety during these events, emergency services organizations, local authorities, and community partners coordinate efforts. As winter weather persists throughout the county, fire officials urged people to be aware of the cold weather conditions, resources that are available, and how to properly use warming centers.
