Mastic Firefighters Make Quick Work of Car Fire

Shirley N.Y.- On December 17th at just before 9:30 PM the Suffolk FRES dispatched the Mastic Fire Department for a reported Vehicle fire on Boxwood Dr near Moriches Middle Island Rd. Mastic FD Chief of Department Rudy Sunderman Arrived on scene to find a active vehicle fire. He advised the first due engine crew which was 5-12-4 to stretch a booster line off the engine. 2nd due engine crew also was advised to stretch a booster line. Crews went to work to make a quick knock down of the fire. Fire Police Units closed the road in the area while firefighters operated. Units were dismissed in about 45 minutes with the exception of the chief who remained on scene for the fire marshal’s arrival.
